Lawn Control

How often should I mow my lawn?

We advise mowing no more than once every two weeks or 14 days. Lawns are living beings – grass takes time to recover after being cut!

What time of day should I start irrigation?

Irrigation should happen in the morning, as close to sunrise as possible. The goal is to run each zone long enough to cover the root zones (or the soil areas around the roots of your plants.)

If I notice brown and yellow patches on my lawn, should I add more water?

No. Brown or yellowing may indicate fungus or disease. If this is the case, adding more water could spread the affected areas. However, if you notice grass with brown tips, this may be from unsharp mowing equipment. It doesn’t cut the grass evenly, leaving a frayed edge that oxidizes and turns brown over time.

My palm tree looks unhealthy – does that mean it needs fertilizing?

Before taking action, it is best to have palm trees (or any plants) inspected and diagnosed. This is the only way to provide the proper treatment.

My ornamental plants haven’t looked good since they were planted. Are they bad plants?

With ornamental plants, keep in mind the ‘right plant for the right place.’ Sometimes, plants are put in the wrong spot, keeping them from being healthy and happy. Before you decide to dig up plants, be sure to have a specialist take a look to diagnose the problem.
